About the Owner and Accentuate Salon

Hello! I’m Kim, the proud founder of Accentuate Salon. I’ve been in the beauty industry since 1998. At 18 years old, I worked for Shiseido as a makeup artist and skincare consultant. I started eyebrow waxing in 2000 when I was 20 years old at Paul Brown Salon and Day Spa in Ward Center. After seven enriching years there, I launched my independent venture, Accentuate Salon, in 2008, specializing in eyebrow waxing and makeup.

After two decades in the industry, I began to notice a recurring frustration among my clients: finding a single tool that could effortlessly shape, define, and fill their eyebrows. I wanted something precise yet versatile—something that would give everyone, no matter their brow type, the ability to create their ideal look. I knew if I couldn’t find the perfect tool, I’d have to create it myself. That vision inspired me to design the KBrow brush, a tool created to make filling in the eyebrows effortless and customizable, featuring a unique dual-sided design for both precise detailing and soft blending. Like my services, this brush reflects my commitment to excellence and my desire to provide only the best for my clients.

And most recently, one year ago, I expanded Accentuate Salon to a full-service salon! I am so excited to extend our services to reach more clients and accentuate their natural beauty.

“I’ve been coming to Kim since 2006! I first met her at Paul Brown because I really needed to get my brows done. So I figured you get what you pay for right?! I told the receptionist to pair me up with someone that is highly recommended. When I moved back home, I of course lost touch with her, and when I moved back, I needed to link up with her again, and I had the hardest time locating her because she had gone on her own. BUT thank goodness for FB I found her. Kim is amazing and super sweet, she interacts with her clients and gets to know them. She has a great memory, we always pick up where we left off when we conversate as shes doing my brows and don’t have that awkward silence.

Her new location is located off of King St. in the building right next to Panda Express. Parking is available, but sometimes it might be full. So you might have to park on the street (if available) but for the most part you are able to park there. She is in the same building as Yakiniku Seoul, Suite 303. Her studio is cute & cozy, and not over the top fancy. She also has a brow punch card, after every 10 you get $10 off your next brow waxing. She does also offer other waxing services at a very reasonable price.”
